Community of practice on prudent use of antimicrobials in animals | July 2024 Meeting
03 July 2024 | Virtual | 15:00 – 16:00 (ICT)
For this month’s session: This July, Dr Gunawan Budi Utomo of FAO ECTAD Indonesia will be sharing with the CoP their experience as one of the first countries to pilot the implementation of the RENOFARM or “Reduce the Need for Antimicrobials on Farms for Sustainable Agrifood Systems Transformation (RENOFARM)”.
RENOFARM is a 10-year global flagship FAO initiative centered in promoting good practices at the farm level to produce safe and healthy livestock products for the community while preventing the risk of AMR in a sustainable manner. It is an action-oriented, country-focused, and country-led initiative responding to the global agrifood systems transformation agenda. RENOFARM engages the entire production chain, from farm to fork, and strengthens partnerships, including public-private partnerships.
For this session, we will be hearing how FAO ECTAD Indonesia is systematically expanding and scaling up proven initiatives promoting effective biosecurity measures, proper vaccination programs, good farming practices, and prudent antimicrobial use for treatment.
