The 2nd Asian Animal Health Awards, AAHA 2024 , supported by Health & Nutrition Asia 2024 in collaboration with FAVA, 2 awards : 1) Academician/researcher and 2) Field practitioner. The nomination are from the FAVA member countries. The award ceremony was presented by Dr. Isao Kurauchi, President of FAVA and President Elect of WVA and K. Panadda Kongma, VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific on 12 March, 2024 in H&N Asia 2024, BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. This year the awardee of AAHA 2024 are; the best Academician& Researcher, Prof. Naoaki Misawa, Specially Appointed Professor of Center for Animal Disease Control (CADIC), University of Miyazaki, Japan and Principle Investigator of Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREP) who have been conducting advanced research on the pathogenicity, diagnosis and prevention of food borne pathogens, Campylobacter jejuni. His contribution also goes to the academic activities on the President of Japan Society of Veterinary Public Health of the Kyushu region; the best Veterinary Practitioner co-joint winner, Dr. Deddy Fachruddin Kurniawan, CEO of Dairy Farming Consultant Group and D’Clinic, Indonesia, currently leads the FMD Committee of Indonesian Cattle Veterinary Association, ICVA, the co -joint winner is Dr. Edna Zenaida Villacorte, a member of the Department of Agriculture Scientific and Technical Review Panel on Biotechnology, Philippines. Her contributions in many multi sectoral committees focusing on the food security through food animal and agriculture product, veterinary public health concerns, zoonotic diseases.
