About the Event:

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP), World Health Organization (WHO) Southeast Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO), and World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific (RRAP) and the Sub-Regional Representation for Southeast Asia (SRR-SEA) will host a two-day food fair in celebration of the World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) 2024. The annual global event is celebrated from 18 to 24 November to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and encourage action among One Health stakeholders to tackle the emergence and spread of drug-resistant pathogens. The theme for the WAAW 2024 is “Educate. Advocate. Act now.” The European Union (EU) is supporting the food fair financially and technically through its Tripartite-implemented regional AMR project. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) also has some financial and technical contribution.
